The most desired album in Galicia.
The most moving show.

“It is one of the top events in Galician music in the last 15 years”, say the band’s fans.

After the succesful live debut of the album at Teatro Colón in A Coruña, the first edition sold out in less than a month. And then Marful took their Galician sound to the Portuguese temple of music: Casa da Música in Porto.

They sparked the artistic revolution of the decade, in terms of concept, design, arrangements, aesthetics and lyrics. This great dose of cosmopolitanism has made Marful a cult band in Galicia.

With their first album, which received great popular and critical acclaim, they visited stages across Europe and America. They received the Public Award of Radio Galega in 2006 and they were selected to represent Galicia for the first time in Womex 2007, as well as in Sines’ World Music Festival. Marful opens borders.

“We carry dangling lost souls” – hence their introduction of The Handbook of Seduction. The ideal lover is a grown child, an emotional exhibitionist. Seduction is not explicit, it is a product of the imagination: the place where colours are created and hands try their luck. The Handbook of Seduction is a luminous, exuberant, travelling, lysergic, oneiric album.

Marful’s musicians allow themselves to be seduced by popular Galician and Portuguese music, by flamenco and jazz, by Strappini Orchestra’s Italian music, by friends and constant journeys to Cuba and Brazil, by itinerant music, varietés and music-hall. As a result, Marful mixes club, vintage and cool sound with Galician magical realism, full of irony and Galician-Portuguese topics. This Handbook of Seduction shows the band’s most impressionistic face, with surrealistic -even pataphysical- lyrics and a variety of instrumental tones, great to dance in different styles: twist, slow, swing, pasodoble, jota and mambo.

Marful unites three major musicians and a moving intelligent vocalist: Marcos Teira, Pedro Pascual, Pablo Pascual and Ugia Pedreira. Four indispensable Galician musicians.

The band is regularly joined by Jacobe Martínez (double-bass) and Lar Legido (drums and percussion), from the band Sumrá, in the vanguard of Galician jazz.
